Dylan Hardy (BS'17)

Dylan Hardy

I will be working with the Bureau of Land Management in Santa Fe, New Mexico as an intern for the Chicago Botanic Garden. The primary focus of the internship is setting up trend monitoring plots for imperiled plant species. This information will be used to determine the protection status of plants and impact management decisions.

Trend monitoring involves using appropriate sampling and data analysis techniques to monitor how plant populations are changing over time or responding to management. In addition to plant monitoring, I will also be assisting with wild seed collection, pollinator monitoring, native plant restoration, and possibly work on projects with other individuals in the field office.
